Mental Health Support

Mental Health Support is at the core of North Colchester PCN’s focus in supporting practices. There are two levels of support we have invested in as a PCN that are available to patients of all five practices.

Firstly, we have our acute support team, who are available for a phone call often the same day. Whilst this isn’t an urgent service, it is extremely beneficial to have a skilled nurse on the other end of the phone should you need someone to talk to. You can request a call from our reception team, just ask for Katie, our Mental Health Nurse.

Secondly, we have our long-term support team. This team is available for both telephone and face to face support following a GP referral. They are able to support with a broad range of mental health support, whether it be new or pre-existing. Please book with a GP today if you feel you would benefit from support from Jason and Ellen for more in-depth support.

For emergencies, please call 999. A mental health emergency should be taken as seriously as a physical one. You will not be wasting anyone's time. Alternatively, if you feel you do not need to call 999, you can call 111 and select option 2 where the team are able to facilitate urgent GP appointments to support you. You can also visit Mind’s support information on ways to help yourself cope during a crisis.
